As a new home owner, you need peace of mind, ensuring that you and your family are safe when you’re at home and ensuring that you protect your belongings even when you’re not at home. Here, we are going to show you some of the tips you can use to make your new home’s windows burglar proof. Check them out…

  • Reinforce your glass windows with secure materials, like tempered glass (which is a better option than traditional glass). It’s harder to break and it isn’t as expensive as you would think. If at any point a burglar attempts to break in through your window, they would have to repeatedly strike on your window in one spot to break through it. That of course, would cause and immense amount of noise, which would alert you.
  • Opt to use polycarbonate and Plexiglas windows, because they are 10 times stronger than traditional glass, but just as thick. These windows tend to be much more expensive, but much more secure as well and they’re deemed at about 250 times more resistant to impact, than safety glass.
  • Try window bars to decorate and secure your windows. These help to make your windows burglar resistant, so even if someone breaks through your glass, they cannot enter through the tiny spaces in the bars.
  • Choose a window alarm to help to detect when someone opens or breaks your window, and then warn you of it. There are window sensor alarms, GE SmartHome Window Alarms, Schlage Window Sensors and more.
  • Get your window a lock, whether it be a deadbolt or a window guard. It’s a great way to deter burglars from your home because they often just stop the burglar from even trying to gain access.
